After attending this Master Class the attendee will have sound understanding of the anatomy of the brachial plexus relevant for upper extremity blocks. The participants will be able to accurately identify the individual elements of the brachial plexus using ultrasound including the roots (C5 - T1), trunks (upper, middle, lower), division, cord and the four major peripheral nerves (median, radial, ulnar and musculocutaneous) of the upper extremity. Effect of BPB techniques on hemidiphragmatic function and its assessment using ultrasound will be observed. Participants will be demonstrated using prerecorded videos, how to perform some of the newer and traditional upper extremity nerve blocks i.e. selective dorsal scapular nerve block, anterior suprascapular nerve block, selective upper trunk block, hybrid block(combined upper trunk and supraclavicular BPB), targeted supraclavicularbrachial plexus block, costoclavicular BPB, lateral sagittal infraclavicular and ancillary BPB.
